Midweek Magic

Where creativity meets craft beer for the perfect blend of clay therapy & happy hour available Monthly at Birdsong Brewing 🍻 ✨

Leave the workday at the door, grab your favorite Birdsong brew, and settle in for an evening of creativity, connection, and clay-filled fun as you transform Earth to Art. Whether you're looking to break up the week, unplug from the daily grind, or simply enjoy the company of your community, this workshop is the perfect excuse to slow down, focus on the present, and tap into your creativity. As you build, shape, and personalize your piece, you'll learn new techniques, make creative decisions, and solve small challenges, giving both your hands and your brain something rewarding to do.

Come for the beer, stay for the clay, and leave with a memorable experience, and the satisfaction of creating something thoughtfully crafted, uniquely yours.

>What to Expect<

From a simple slab or ball of clay, you'll learn the techniques needed to transform raw earth into a functional piece of art. No prior experience is needed, just bring your imagination and an open mind ready to create. Stefanie provides all materials and will demonstrate each step of the process, offering guidance, tips, and plenty of encouragement as you bring your ideas to life.

With up to two hours to create, you'll learn how to shape, assemble, and personalize your project while enjoying the process at your own pace. There is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, explore creative details, and make the piece uniquely your own. Depending on the project, you'll either decorate your piece with underglazes during the lesson, or Stefanie will take care of the glazing to complete your vision.

No two creations are ever exactly alike—that's part of the magic! ✨

>What to Wear<

Handbuilding isn't particularly messy, but you will be working with clay. Wear something comfortable that you won't mind getting a little dusty. If your hair has a mind of its own, do yourself a favor and pull it back.

Jewerly is welcome, but consider keeping it to a minimum—both to avoid leaving unexpected impressions on your clay and to save yourself a little cleanup later. Short nails are ideal for working with clay, but don't worry if yours are longer—I have tools and tricks to help. Just maybe don't schedule a manicure right before the workshop. 😉

>What Happens Next?<

After the workshop, your project will be taken to SAS Studios for the finishing process. Each piece must dry completely before being fired in the kiln to achieve its final durable finish. With varying factors of drying times, and ensuring every piece dries without complications, the process can take 4–6 weeks from workshop date to completion. You'll be notified as soon as your finished creation is ready and returned to Birdsong for pickup.
